Kayla is a hair colorist who specializes in natural, lived-in hair color and the French technique, balayage. Her career began on the East Coast where she studied at Paul Mitchell The School. Shortly after she pursued a dream to move to sunny California. In CA she soaked up as much knowledge as possible from the top salons in LA and West Hollywood apprenticing. Now Kayla has planted her roots in Chicago and it didn't take long for others to recognize her passion for hair color and innate ability to connect with her clients. Today, Kayla is one of the most sought after colorists in the city. Her hand painted highlights have attracted many Chicago locals who are seeking that California sunkissed look. She has a love for all things color, but a true passion for creating sparkling blondes and sultry, beachy brunettes.

"Upon moving to Southern California, I was instantly inspired by the beachy "surfer girl" (or sun kissed) hair that was making its debut as the hottest trend at that time. The way the sun and the salt water lightened the hair naturally was so fascinating to me. I spent my time there obsessing over and studying how I could create this "less is more" look for my clients" -K

Kayla now is the proud owner of KMV Hair, a salon studio in the heart of Wicker Park. She wanted to create a comfortable, relaxing yet fun space for her clients to come have a glass of wine or coffee and leave refreshed with fabulous hair!
